ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Josh!
I first fell in love with photography in 2007 while working as a journalist in Texas. As a reporter for a small community newspaper, I often had to shoot my own images and developed a profound appreciation for the power of photographs in storytelling. To this day, I thrive in the challenge of evoking the unique atmosphere and conveying the honest emotion from a moment in time.
Let’s be honest: photo sessions can sometimes feel awkward or staged. Our most memorable milestones – graduation, engagements, weddings, parenthood – are a beautiful and complex blend of joy, anticipation, and maybe even some nerves about the road ahead. My goal is to capture these moments authentically, in all their lovely, messy, and wonderfully vulnerable glory.
MY APPROACH
WILLIAM BLAKE, AUGURIES OF INNOCENCE
This renowned verse by poet William Blake captures my perspective on photography’s vital role in our lives. I believe these thoughtfully framed slices of life act as windows into deeper and more profound truths. Your photographs help you recall how you felt in a cherished moment, illustrate your identity, and keep you connected to what motivates and inspires you.
My aim is to capture images that are woven into the fabric of your life: framed in your living room or office, greeting you from your phone home screen, shared with friends on a website or social media, or curated in keepsake albums. They are grains of sand or wildflowers that offer insight into the richness of your unique human experience.
